I am a Videogame Designer excited to create new and original experiences for the world to enjoy

Ángel Bernal

Education

Computer science degree

I learned multiple programming languages, as well as project managing and work methodologies, and to work in a team. I studied in the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). It was the stepping stone to the videogame world, as I wanted to have technical background first and foremost.

Videogame design master

In this master, I learned everything I need and more to enter the videogame industry and create a game that is enjoyable and groundbreaking. I have had lessons about UX, general game design, sound design, how to guide players, and many more.

Designing Lunarpunk as our Final Project has been an amazing experience and has made me want to enter the videogame industry more than ever.

English language

I have always taken an interest in English, and I am really proficient at it. I have got a C2 level in English certified by Cambridge, and I have lived in the UK with an English family for a month.

Lunarpunk

The first ever Tower Attack, Lunarpunk is an action game with strategy and management game inspirations, developed in UE4. In this game, you must attack hordes of enemies and invade their territory with your moving turrets, which you can upgrade, repair and order to move towards the enemies. Steam link here!

I was one of the three designers in the game, which was developed by Walking Octopus, a team made by more than 30 members of different master's degrees, in collaboration with UCM and Voxel.

QA WORKS

I have worked in multiple QA and testing environments,

in which I gained a vast experience in agile methodologies such as JIRA, the QA workflow and to work on the clock.

  • My first job was as a QA tester in YBVR, a company developing a streaming and on demand content platform focused on sports for the Oculus Quest 2 marketplace, employed by Meta.
  • Before and after that, I have had multiple opportunities to work on games as a tester and as QA tester, being the most important Trials Rising and Pit People, in which I had tight deadlines and direct contact with the developers to ensure their games were meeting their standards and providing feedback directly.

During my Computer Science degree, I developed different apps and projects using a wide variety of programming languages, such as C, C#, Python, MongoDB, Lisp, Java and Kotling, among others. Many of those projects were in small teams, and all of my teammates can corroborate that I am an excelent team player and an outgoing person.

other projects

I am currently developing short games and prototypes on a weekly basis to help improve my coding and prototyping skills, so check out my itch.io to see the little games I create!
